Some of the deals our professionals have worked on.
LiveNote and RealLegal
The principals of Kempton advised LiveNote, Inc. on the acquisition of RealLegal, raising expansion capital and ultimate disposal of the combined business to Thomson Reuters. With a market share of more than 80% of the top 200 global law firms, LiveNote’s software is still the most widely used litigation software of any kind. All these transactions generated substantial shareholder value that culminated in the shareholders’ exit in 2006.
LDSI
Kempton advised LDSI in raising expansion capital and working capital funding for its international expansion efforts As a leading eDiscovery services provider with operations in the UK, USA, Australia and France, LDSI required funding sources to accommodate its aggressive growth. Kempton put in place a creative funding structure that provided the necessary resources and maximized shareholder value.
MotionPoster
Kempton's founder was responsible for funding the growth of this business through a reverse take-over and listing on the public AIM stock market in London. MotionPoster created an exciting new advertising medium and used the funding to roll out the concept commercially to a number of underground metro systems throughout the world. Given the tightening equity markets at the time, the transaction was considered an overwhelming success.
CTN Television
The principals of Kempton advised CTN on the fund raising and public application process for South Africa’s first private terrestrial television station. In addition to creating the business plans for an entire station and negotiating various content deals, more than $100 million was raised from various international investors.
